First, we wanted to say THANK YOU to all of our friends and family who have been so generous over this past week. From sharing our website, liking us on Facebook, and providing feedback, to connecting us with your contacts at local schools, the outpouring of support has been truly humbling. We cannot do this without you, and it means so much to know you are behind us on this new adventure. Please keep the website nits, the contacts at local schools, and the simple emails of encouragement coming! We savor each email, as they serve as small boosts of energy as we try to launch rewriteU in between our other full-time obligations.
Our week in review
After our launch, our number one priority has been expanding our network. We have been reaching out to friends and family in education circles; contacting language arts teachers, counselors, resource teachers, and administrators in schools; networking with local businesses to see if they'll carry some of our informational bookmarks and postcards; and signing up to present at literary fairs.
If you are looking for the number one way to help us at this stage, it would be sending us a contact or providing an introduction to a teacher, administrator or librarian who may be interested in partnering with rewriteU. We all have contacts at our alma maters, and we think rewriteU can help some (if not all!) of their aspiring readers and writers.
On a personal note, we celebrated baby Jack's first birthday this weekend. It's hard to believe how fast the year has gone and watching him transform from an 8.1 lb sleepy boy into the 20+ pound crawler who lights up every room he enters with his smile.
See you next week.
